Black Bear with Whitetail Fawn, Michigan State Convention 2009
Bobby took this 372# spring boar in 1993 during a bow hunt in Kashabowie Ont. The hide was stored frozen until the winter of 2007. The fawn came from a deer farm in Springport MI, that had died shortly after birth of natural causes. The piece is called "Nature's Way" This mount was created to grow awareness of "Nature's Way" of controlling deer populations, which can be much crueler than legal hunting methods by sportsmen and sportswomen.. It won "Best Professional Lifesize Mammal", "People's Choice, Professional Lifesize", and the "Directors award for most artistic entry" at the 2009 Michigan Taxidermist Association's annual competition in Grand Rapids, MI. This mount took sixteen years to come to fruition, but it was well worth the wait! Thanks to all who voted for it.
